# WeatherDataAI

> Daily historical weather data for any point on land or any set of countries, 1940 to present, on a 0.25° (~28 km) global grid. Delivered as CSV by email within one business day after payment. Sold by Marcus Weather Inc.

Two ways to get data:

1. **Order endpoint (this file):** one-off purchases of point or country data, paid through Stripe Checkout. Best for bulk country grids, departures and climatology.

The response contains a Stripe Checkout `url`. A human must open it and pay. Present the link to your user; do not attempt to complete payment yourself. Data is emailed to the address entered at checkout.

Send `"dry_run": true` to get a price quote without creating a payment.

## Pricing (USD)

A **series** is one variable as daily values (`<id>`), daily departure from normal (`<id>_departure`) or 30-year daily climatology (`<id>_climatology`).

- **Point:** $5 per series, any date range. Minimum $10.
- **Gridded:** $0.50 per 1,000 grid points, per series, per year. A climatology counts as one year. Minimum $25. Grid points per country are listed below.
- Orders over $25,000: email support@weatherdata.ai for an invoice.

Formula (gridded): `max(25, 0.5 × total_grid_points / 1000 × (daily_and_departure_series × years + climatology_series))`

## Data details

- Grid: 0.25° (~28 km), land only. Daily values.
- Period: 1 Jan 1940 to the order date minus 7 days.
- Departures: each day's difference from the long-run normal at that grid point.
- Climatology: 30-year daily normal, one 365-day series per variable.
- Point orders: one CSV. Gridded orders: one CSV per series per year, one row per grid point (Point_ID, Country, Continent, Region, latitude, longitude, then one column per date).
